About

Welcome to the Learning Family! I created this website to help you become a family that has fun learning and growing together. Raising kids is hard but enjoyable work. COVID-19 has created many additional challenges for families across the globe. Some of the questions I frequently hear are: How do you keep the kids engaged in school when content is online? How do you make sure the kids spend time in the real world and not just in front of screens? Should I homeschool my kids? What low-cost educational activities can we do together as a family? My website is here to help you embark on a rewarding journey of family learning. Please follow me on twitter and consider supporting me on Patreon. Thank you!

Learning Family includes:
  • a rapidly growing list of free resources to stimulate and support the learning family;
  • my blog on which I share with you my personal experience and thoughts on activities for the learning family;
  • a fee-based coaching service (yes, you can hire me to help you figure out things and personalize stuff for the needs of your family).
This site is about you and your learning family but I assume you are curious to get to know me and to learn how my journey has brought me to the Learning Family.

My name is Anita Frohlich and I have been homeschooling my four kids since 2016.
Before having kids, I worked as a legal scholar. I published several articles on comparative law and taught law as an adjunct faculty. In 2007, I started my blog CompareLex that makes comparative law accessible to a broader audience.
Since starting our homeschool, I have gained tremendous experience in many different areas, including learning and teaching methodologies, curriculum development, teaching in a multi-lingual setting and ever so more.
I love teaching and the challenges that come along with it. My strength lies in being flexible. No child is similar and kids' needs change over time. When it comes to teaching there is no thinking in templates. Let me help you make learning from home a success!
Occasionally, you will find affiliate links on this website. This means that I may get a small commission when you click on these links and purchase products from the affiliated websites. There is no additional cost to you. Also, I will only link to products that I have tried and that I recommend.
